There are two versions of peplums; fitted and flared. To show off your figure and create that hourglass look, go for fitted. Flared will add a little more shape and is great for a boyish figure. Skin tone is an important factor to consider when working with this hue. The darker your tone, the more leeway you are going to have. That doesn’t mean porcelain skin can’t take advantage of this trend! Try not to wear something that is too close to your skin tone. The worst case of this is if you have blonde hair and lighter complexion. Try to create an opposite affect. The lighter your skin tone, the darker your hue needs to be. Try to stick with neutrals such as a buttery tone, cinnamon, or more yellowish cream. For olive or darker skin, you can go lighter. Branch out to cream or ivory.

A great way to work with nudes is to pair bright and bold colors with it. Break up your outfit with a neon belt or layer with your basic colored tees. Choosing the right earrings depend on the shape of your face, the neckline on your top, and the way you wear your hair. A simple rule of thumb is to avoid wearing earrings that are similar in shape to your face. For example; if you have a round face, a pair of perfectly rounded hoops will exaggerate your facial shape. Take in account the size of your ears; small studs get lost on a larger ear, while oversized hoops won’t look good on smaller earlobes. When it comes to considering your hairstyle, think symmetry and balance.  Long, straight earrings look best with long, straight hair. And wavy, curved chandeliers look best with wavy hair. Though these are basic guidelines to follow, I think it depends on your atmosphere as well. In a work environment, stick to the rules. For a night out at a big event, dare to go a little bigger or bolder than you might usually.

Big earrings look good with a lower neckline. IF you wear large earrings with a higher neckline, they can get lost or create a cluttered look around your face. Look for a maxi that has some shape to it. Whether it has an empire waist or has a v neck; this will help to make sure you look feminine and not like you are wearing a long trash bag. You can always add shape to the dress by belting it. less is more when it comes to material. You don’t want the dress to have so much fabric that it’s going to swallow your body, which isn’t flattering on anyone!
